What if i got a little bumble bee on the inside of my lip do you think it would hurt bad?

I really like tattoos and i have a pooh bear dresses as a bumble bee on my ankle and i wanted to keep the theme going i also got one by my ear hole as if it was going in and i was just thinking of more odd places to get them and i seen someone with a crown on the inside of there lip. And i thought that that was pretty fly!!What if i got a little bumble bee on the inside of my lip do you think it would hurt bad?
It would look okay, but how would it heal up? Do you really want bad tasting ointment in your mouth? Plus, tattoos need to breathe to heal properly. What if i got a little bumble bee on the inside of my lip do you think it would hurt bad?
im not sure if you already go it...but i got one on the inside of my lower lip 2 days ago. it does hurt pretty bad %26amp;%26amp; you usually have to get it redone 2 more times for it to stay. and it heals on its own you dont use any oitment Report Abuse

Why would you want a tattoo inside your mouth? I don't understand.
ouch! yea that would hurt
Oh, HELL yeah its going to hurt. I have 4 tats ( calves %26amp; back ) and granted they were uncomfortable to get but they were all in places that don't hurt a whole lot. Just think how much it hurts when you get a little tiny canker sore on the inside of your lip or you bite your cheek. Ever had the dentist give you novacaine on the outside of your gums before he does work on your teeth? Thats just one needle and not going in and out for 30-60 minutes.

I'm a fireman and run into burning buildings and I say that if you get one on the inside of your mouth then you have bigger stones than I do. LOL
I heard that it doesn't hurt too much on the inside of the lip. I guess it really depends on yourpain tolerance.
I don't think it would really hurt at all, because your lip is not sensitive, all I ask is if you really want it, make sure you get it done by a trustworthy tattoo artist.
It would have to be really small. and yes it will most likley hurt.. but at least it wont be for long
New York Day Spa advises that you should not have a tattoo on your lip either inside or outside because you would be prown to oral infections and bacteria. Have a lip gloss instead :-)
Definately

i need ideas as to what ways to apply my eye makeup for a bumble bee.pictures and websites links might help.thank yhouu(a)!What way should i apply my eye makeup for a bumble bee?
Black and yellow stripes of course!!! Or just one fat stripe yellow, and one black. It's tricky but you can ttly do it. Here's what I would use for the yellow:

http://cgi.ebay.com/BRIGHT-YELLOW-Eyesha鈥?/a> -if you scroll down a little bit here you will see the yellow eyeshadow that I recommend. Put a thick layer on all of your eyelid (just the part that's literally covering your eye, no higher because that's where the black will go)

http://www.worldofstock.com/thumbs/PMO15鈥?/a> -or you could do the black first like in this photo

    Here's a black that I recommend:

http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/app.d鈥?/a>What way should i apply my eye makeup for a bumble bee?
yellow from lash line to brow

solid black lid only and a smudge line underneath.

    That will look beey
Maybe do a faded black eyeshadow to bright yellow. You'd have to do it carefully so the colors don't blend but I think it'd look cute.
Be very careful, as bumblebees are small creatures and very fragile. Make sure to purchase makeup that has been humanely tested on bumblebees in a clean laboratory, it also may help to make sure PETA has inspected the facility, too.

    :-)
Jon R is so funny, and you should put on black mascara, red lipstick, and gold or dark yellow eyeshadow! good luck and that is SOOOO cute!!!!
black and yellow! black eyeliner and mascara, and golden eyeshadow! or do the colors differently in those places.
Take black liquid eyeliner and paint a stripe across your face about an inch wide across the area where your eyes are.
black eyeshadow and yellow mascara -- omg looks so cute!!

I am trying to find out if they are the same person, different person, or related. Is Hot Shot and Bumble Bee the same character in transformers?
yes they areIs Hot Shot and Bumble Bee the same character in transformers?
No they are not. Bumblebee was one of the original transformers. His original morph was a beetle. They made a homage to it in the movie when bumblebee parked next to the yellow beetle in the car lot. Hotshot was made up later in one of the animated spin-offs. They are not related and have never even met in any of the shows and spin-offs.
no there not the same and there not related.

hot shot first appeared in the cyberton trilogy.

    armada,energon,and cybertron.

hot shot is very much like the orginal bumble bee.

b/c they are both young but have great potential.

but hotshot is a little to cocky and tries to do everything his way and most of the time it doesnt pay off.

I would like to know if they have habanero flavor. Please answer asap. :D have a lovely day.Where can I buy Bumble Bee Sardines in houston texas?
    Hi Lisa,

They're packed with chili oil but I'm not sure if it's habanero or jalapeno. You can order them from true foods online or call them at 1-877-276-5303. The other thing that usually works is asking the manager at your supermarket to order them for you. I moved from Houston to California and it's the only way I can get Blueberry Pepperidge Farms turnovers here.

    Hope this helps.

If you can get a picture of it, go to a web site of a university near you, find someone who teaches biology (preferably entomology), and see if he/she can identify it. It's best to deal with someone nearby because they'll be accustomed to the ';critters'; in your area :-)

Lewis Carol had a character in his book called the mad hatter, in London hats were made that had mercury in the inside around the rim of the hat, they did not know that it was so toxic that it drove people mad, this is where the saying comes from as mad as a hatter.

Has anyone seen an insect with the wings and nose of a humming bird and the body of a bumble bee?

I saw one over the weekend in the suburbs of Pennsylvania. At first I thought it was a queen bee but its wings and nose were exactly like a humming bird , it was really amasing to watch. It is possible a humming bird and bumble bee could have cross-bred and now we have a new kind of insect or has this kind of insect been around and I just never saw one before. Please help if you have info about this. We are very very interested to know .Has anyone seen an insect with the wings and nose of a humming bird and the body of a bumble bee?

Humming-bird hawk moth is doubtless what you saw. They

behave very much like hummingbirds. They have nothing to

do with either humming birds or bees except that they look

rather like them. They develop from a large caterpillar, like

any other kind of hawk moth, the tomato or tobacco hornworms, for example.
Hmm..not sure. I know that the two would never cross breed, though. Thee are so many types of insects out there. By the way, it would never be a queen bee, they just lay in the middle of the hive all day and night laying eggs and never moving.
There is a very rare moth in Minnesota, and I'm not sure where else. I'm serious here. My neighbor saw one and I've been looking for a couple years. It's called a Humming Bird Moth, and is sometimes mistaken for a humming bird because of it's rapid wing movements and flight patterns. I've only seen it in pictures though. This might be what you saw.

What fish could I put with a bumble bee goby?

I really like them bumble bee gobys but I don't know what fish I need to put in with them. and what water conditions do they need? eg. Heater, filter, what level of Ph and stuff.

Anything is appreciated :]What fish could I put with a bumble bee goby?
Bumble bee gobies are nice little fish but could be suited for brackish water, but I have been told that they will be OK in fresh water. I have kept them in fresh water with no chemicals added and they lived alright. The usual filter and heating as for other tropicals 75F. They do well with live daphnia as well other live foods.

Tank mates small tetras and barbs but without salt in the water. What fish could I put with a bumble bee goby?
Brackish water fish need more salt than other aquarium fish. Some brackish fish are the offspring of marine fish who swim inland to freshwater and spawn. Others are fish who spend their whole life in mildly salty (brackish) water. We recommend keeping aquarium books and magazines for references.

Housing: Add 1-2 tablespoons of salt per gallon. Keep pH 7.2-7.8

Feeding: Feed 2-3 times a day with standard foods a variety of quality foods. Use flake foods, frozen brine shrimp, frozen bloodworms and Formula one, frozen foods and plankton. Live brine shrimp on a regular basis is recommend.

Fish that can live with them include:Archers, austrailian rainbows, celebese rainbows, flounders, mollies, columbian sharks, green spotted puffers, knight gobies
Bumble bees need brackish water. Although there are two types only one (Brachygobius xanthozona ) can survive in fresh water. Keep it brackish. Marine salt only with a hydrometer reading around 1.005 -1.01 Do not keep these guys in a fresh water tank so no fresh water fish. Brachygobius nunus are brackish and will not do well in fresh water. You need to know what kind you have. If the store cannot tell you look at the black stripe if it is solid and unbroken it is a Xanthozona if it is banded or broken it is a nunus

Current should be centered towards the bottom of the tank. Gobies are ambush hunters and won't go out of their way for food. Most also will not eat flake foods.

Keep lots of hiding places for your fish. Rocks, pots, caves etc.

figure eight puffers make great tank mates and will not bother the gobies. Other gobies (although you do not want to overcrowd or there will be boarder disputes) Although mollies and guppies are great tank mates guppies tend to get eaten and the molly fry as well. Many people keep mollies and guppies with them for this reason. Swordtails, some barbs, gouramis, tetras, rainbows, plecos (yes they are salt tolorent) and cory cats however the plecos and cats also inhabit the lower end of the tank which may cause problems if you are housing in a small tank.

PH should be around anywhere between 6.5 and 8 (a stable ph is better than a specific number here). Hearter and filter are needed for your fish.

How to get rid of bumble bees in a bush when I can't find the nest?

I have to get rid of a bush outside my lounge window as I am due to have windows replaced and cannot see a nest so far. Has anyone got any suggestions as to what I can do to get rid of them and be able to cut down the bush please??? Very urgentlyHow to get rid of bumble bees in a bush when I can't find the nest?
i hope you dont want to injure the bees , i suggest you contact your local radio station and ask for an appeal for the nearest beekeeper in your area this needs specialist handling . good luckHow to get rid of bumble bees in a bush when I can't find the nest?
first off, of course bumble bees can sting

are they just getting pollen / nectar off of the shrub in question? if so just cut it down, they won't bother you. If they are nesting in the ground or an opening of the house where the bush is you may have to have to call an exterminator to deal with them, they will attack when they feel threatened around their nest
Bumble bees do not die after they sting. They will not brother you if you do not brother them.

They build their nest in holes in the ground.

Some orange oil mixed with some water on the bush should get rid of them or hang some sheets of Bounce fabric softener in the bush.
just remember bumble bees can not sting. only honey bees can sting
Can't you hear where the hive is? Spray in that general direction.
get a bee trap, these things cost about 10 dollars, and they seriously work!

You should have let your cat eat the bee. This way the bees know their place in the food chain. I bet the bee just bit your cat and it will be ok to chase another be very soon. Good luck in your quest.

Any tips to safely get rid of bumble bees?

We have a group of the large, fat bumble bees making themselves at home on our porch. They are climbing in a tiny hole that leads to the rain drainage pipes on our roof...

I don't want to necessarily kill them, as bees play a vital role in our environment, but I don't want them swarming around my head all summer either!

Does anyone have a practical and effective advice to get rid of them, without being stung to death?

If I must kill them, I am willing...

Thanks!Any tips to safely get rid of bumble bees?
If they are truly Bumble Bees, then check your area for a bee keeper who may want them. From what you have said, they are probably yellow jackets, wasps or hornets. If they are, this is how I get rid of them. Buy a can of wasp %26amp; hornet spray that shoots a long distance. At dusk %26amp; at a distance quickly spray the bees that are guards outside the opening, then soak the opening %26amp; I mean soak the opening with the spray. The wasps outside the opening are guards %26amp; must be taken out first or they will attack you. Have your door open to get inside. In the last 3 years I've destroyed 15 hornet nests.Any tips to safely get rid of bumble bees?
Don't call a beekeeper they will laugh at you. bumble bees make VERY LITTLE honey, honey bees can make hundreds of pounds of honey a year, bumble bees make ounces. Don't worry about them affecting the environment if it was a honey bee hive that would be different, i have honey bees and i hate bumble bees; we take a tennis racket a hit them, i have never been stung by one and i have killed a lot.
well lil lady, when i moved into my house it started with mud wasps, then bumble bees ,then hornets all in a 5 year span. like you its a waste to just kill a ';part of the food chain';. I got a bird feeder to attract the local bird(red finch) %26amp; made sure they had safe nest spots. so the next time someone tries 2 talk about the birds %26amp; the bees - Har Har!. good luck.
You might want to call an area apiary. They might be able to suggest something - or even come and get them.

I just did a google search for my province and 'apiary' and got a lot of hits.

    Cheers!

Female Anthophora PlumipesBlack bumblebee larger than the usual brown bumble bee, what is it and where does it come from?
It's not a bumblebee but a Carpenter Bee a cousin of the Bumbleebee. In the United States, there are two eastern species, Xylocopa virginica, and Xylocopa micans, and three other species that are primarily western in distribution, one being Xylocopa varipuncta. X. virginica is by far the more widely distributed species.[2] Some are often mistaken for a bumblebee but are very big for a bumblebee size.

They are no more dangerous than a bumblebee and rarely sting people at all.
a large carpenter bee or some flies depending on where you live

they are hornets!!! look out for the rust colored ones....but the black ones are nasty as hell!
it's a bumble bee! by the way i've never seen a brown bumble bee!
never mind them what about the ones with the purple bums where do they come from
box elder bug...palmetto bug maybe?? not sure
    It's not a hornet.

Bumblebees Bombus species. It' s just a BLACK bumblebee, devoid of any yellow. I have seen them here in SE Arizona as well.

Bumblebees are big and extremely hairy bees, rather closely related to the well-known Honeybee. Most species live in colonies. But they do not store food (honey) to survive winter. The little food they do store serves as a reserve to feed the larvae and the egg-producing queen, or is used to survive cold, windy and rainy days. Just like in social wasps the colony dies, usually in late summer or autumn and the new queens seek for a place to hibernate. A bumblebee colony normally is much smaller than the colonies of Honeybees or wasps, which may be comprised of several thousand individuals. Most bumblebee colonies are comprised of some 50 to 150 animals. Only the Earth Bumblebee may have richly populated nests in which we find 200 up to 600 individuals.

A few species of bumblebees are being bred nowadays to take care of pollination in greenhouses. They turn out to be very useful in growing tomatoes and cucumbers. One can buy colonies in specialized shops and on the internet. When flying most bumblebees are producing lots of noise, attracting our attention that way. They belong to the most beloved of all insects, for they are the perfect messengers announcing spring is on the way. Sometimes as soon as the end of February the first queens can be seen flying from spring flower to spring flower, even though they usually appear by the middle of March.

Bumblebees have typical warning colours: black and yellow or black and red. And it is true: all species are capable of stinging. But they are not very willing to do so. We can even take many species in our hand. As long as we don't squeeze them, they won't sting us at all! Only bumblebees laying on their back should never be touched, for this is their typical defense position, indicating they feel threatened and are ready to sting! Even though the stinger of the bumblebees is build the same way as the Honeybee's, their stinger will not remain in your skin. As a result a bumblebee may sting you more than once. The poison it injects is harmless, except for those allergic to wasp poison. Whether the sting is very painful or not depends on the species involved.

Nowadays all bumblebees are put into one single genus: Bombus. Sometimes a second genus is used (Psithyrus), comprised of all cuckoo bumblebees. In older days bumblebees were put in numerous genera. The length of the tongue was used as most frequent decisive factor. We will give you the previous name of each species as well.

Bumblebees are typical insects of moderate climate zones, with a few species even surviving arctic conditions. You won't find them in the tropics though. The hairs on the body ensure they don't cool off too soon. But there is more. Just like mammals bumblebees control their own body temperature. They can detach the muscles used to move their wings. And by moving the detached muscles rapidly they produce their own body heat. This is the reason you can sometimes find a motionless bumblebee on the ground or a flower. It is not dying or sick, but simply heating up its own body. But due to the fact that the wings are detached from their muscles it is not capable of flying at the time. Bumblebees keep a body temperature of 34 to 38 Centigrade. Only in winter, when temperatures are really dropping below zero, they can't keep up anymore and go into hibernation. This is the reason why many species don't care about cold or rainy weather conditions. Bumblebees can be active on sunny days, while the temperature is still one or two degrees below the freezing point. Honeybees for instance will become active only when temperatures are above some 15 degrees Centigrade!

What should you do if you get stung by a bumble bee?

My mom just got stung by a bumble bee about 10 minutes ago..on her eyelid and then on her chest.

What are the reactions shes going to have? When will you start noticing these reactions?

The swelling has been increasing ever since the bite, should she go to emergnecy? What should you do if you get stung by a bumble bee?

i was a bumble bee for halloween last year!

i had my hair in a bun about half way up my head.

    i did this by:

    1) plait your hair and fasten it with a hair band

    2) starting at the top, roll your plait round the back of your head in a neat circle while securing with some grips

    3) curl some stands of hair that you left out of the bun

    voila!!

did you get your outfit from claires? thats where i got mine from- wings, a head thing with bees coming of it and a wand!

    have a lovely night x
A beehive would be great if you can pull it off. I was thinking pigtails, really high up on the sides of your head. You could braid them so they stick out a little or you could braid/wrap each pony tale around some wire that's secured under the scrunchie so you can manipulate the hair like antenna.
If you have longish hair, twist it into a bun, then tie yellow and black ribbons in it. That's what I did for halloween, when I was a bumblebee! lol. Or, I'm sure Claire's or some other store probably has a bumblebee barrette or something yellow and black.

okay, like maybe mmixing these two together:

    Good luck, and have fun!

    Hope this helped!
Beehive of course! (As long as your hair is long enough! Comb a chunk forward, back comb the central part of your hair and add plenty of hairspray, then comb the front section over it so it looks neat, pin it and add plenty more hairspray to fix.

Heres a pic, and more advice...

Because you are dressing up as a bumble bee, its quite bold so you should keep your hair simple. I suggest tying it up in a neat bun at the back.

How do I kill bumble bees?

They are boring holes in my facia and soffit of my houseHow do I kill bumble bees?
Slap them. How do I kill bumble bees?
It sounds like you have carpenter bees... at night, plug the holes with brillo (metal). They can not go through metal... And/or paint over the holes (they only go through un-painted wood).

Note: only the females can sting, but only do when provoked.

The bees bore a hole in the wood and then go about 90 degrees from that, while in the wood, to lay eggs.

Big colony - call a pro to use chems... Small ones this should work like a charm.

  • What is the life span of a bumble bee ?

How long does a bee live for ? Also, is it true they can sometimes die of exhaustion ? Thanx. What is the life span of a bumble bee ?
    Workers live for about four weeks on average;

    http://www.bumblebee.org/lifeCcolDev.htm

    Queens emerge and mate in the autumn, hibernate until the spring and then start a new colony, dying late the following autumn - so around 12 months for queens;

    http://www.bumblebee.org/lifecycle.htm

I doubt that bees really die from exhaustion - more likely this idea has come from people finding dying bees (that have naturally come to the end of the life), and because they are not moving much have assumed that they are exhausted. What is the life span of a bumble bee ?
Bumble bees can live inbetween Summer and Spring unless they are killed inbetween then.

I thought carpenter bee's were big black and yellow bees...any information on this will be of great help, thanks! What is the difference between a ';bumble bee'; and a carpenter bee?
Carpenter bees nest in excavated wooden tunnels. Bumble bees nest in the ground. Carpenter bees are robust, heavy-bodied bees that range 戮 to 1 inch in length. The carpenter bee can be identified by having bright yellow, orange or white hairs on the thorax and a black shiny abdomen. The bumble bee has a hairy abdomen, black or yellow in color. The male carpenter bee can be identified by having white markings on the head. carpenter bee's top abdomen is nearly bare with no areas of yellow hair and metallic blue/black color. Carpeneter bees bore into wood and bumble bees don't. carpenter bees have no pollen baskets on their hind legs-whereas female bumble bees do.What is the difference between a ';bumble bee'; and a carpenter bee?

What's the difference between a yellow jacket and a bumble bee?

Besides their size! What's the difference between a yellow jacket and a bumble bee?
Yellow jackets are actually a type of wasp, while bumble bees are a type of bee. Sweat bee is a generic term for any number of small bees that are attracted to salty sweat and with only a minor sting. However, if you are allergic, all these should be avoided as their venom is similer. Bumblebees rarely sting though. What's the difference between a yellow jacket and a bumble bee?
yellow jackets can keep stinging you while a honey bee will die when she stings, this is a last resort for a honey bee, yellow jacs, wasps hornets and any other bees I've forgotten are able to sting many times.

Bumble bees are natures greatest, their not supposed to be able to fly do to aerodynamics.
yellow jackets are more aggressive and bees just go from flower to flower. I was attacked by a swarm of YJ when I was little. They sting and stay. Ugh! Poor bees are in trouble this year as thay are dying off.
A yellow jacket is a type of wasp and, I'm assuming, thus is not involved in pollination. A bumblebee is a type of bee and thus pollinates plants.
Well, there are a gazillion different kinds of yellow jackets. But one main difference is that the YJ's are mean tempered. BB's are more good natured. Here's something i found on the internet:

BUMBLEBEE: Bumblebees are social insects that are characterized by black and yellow body hairs, often in bands

YELLOW JACKET: is the common name in North America for wasps of the genera Vespula and Dolichovespula. Members of these genera are known simply as wasps in other English-speaking countries.
A yellow jacket lives underground and can sting you numerous times. A bumble bee stings you once and it's gutts get pulled out. Also, yellow jackets are a lot smaller than bumble bees and don't buzz as much. A sweat bee is even smaller that the two compared above and can either bite or sting. When it stings, it may or may not have it's gutts pulled out.

Identifying Types Of Bees: Bumble, Honey, Killer, Queen Bee, Ground, Carpenter, Bee Hives And Stings

There is more to identifying types of bees than just observing the yellow and black color commonly associated with bees. There are about 20,000 species of bees. Identifying types of bees begins by looking at key features, their social characteristics, their behavior, and examining the type of hive they build.

Identifying types of bees by Color and key features:

All bees have large back feet that have stiff hair called pollen baskets, designed for gathering pollen.

Identifying types of bees can be done by looking at the lip, all honeybees and most other species have a long tube made for sucking nectar from flowers.

Carpenter bees are metallic-colored, black, and have no yellow marking. They can grow up to 2 to 2 陆 inches long.

Bumble bees are large and hairy. They are typically black and yellow.

Honey bees are smaller. They are mostly black but some honey bees have a brown-yellow center.

Identifying different types of bees by their social characteristics:

This is divided into three groups; solitary, social, or parasitic.

Carpenter bees are solitary bees because they do not make wax. They travel long distances between flowers.

Bumblebee's live in colonies, making them social insects. In tropical regions bumblebee colonies can survive for years. In temperate regions, like much of North America, the worker bees and the drones die in the cooler temperatures of fall. The young and fertilized queen bees can survive the winter through hibernation. When the temperature warms up in the spring, the queen bees lay their eggs and a new colony begins.

The honeybee is a very social insect. Identifying types of bees can be done by looking at how these bees work together to create their hive. A honeybee colony consists of three castes: one queen bee, who produces the eggs; thousands of worker bees, which are undeveloped female bees; and a few hundred drones which are fertile male bees. The worker鈥檚 job is to gather nectar from flowers, make and store honey. It is the job of the worker bee to protect the hive and feed and care for the queen and the larvae, baby honeybees.

The African killer bee lives throughout Africa, south of the Sahara Desert. They have made their way over to North and South America and made a home in the more rural areas.

African killer bees were accidentally introduced into the wild in South and North America during 1956. Brazilian scientists were attempting to create a new hybrid bee in the hopes of creating improved honey production. This new species of bee escaped and began to dominate all honey bees, thus the name killer bees. These bees are known to have a highly defensive nature, but no more to humans than any other type of bee. These bees share similar social and key features of the honey bee.

Identifying types of bees by the way they sting:

Whether a bee has a stinger or not is a way of identifying types of bees. There are a few species of stingless bumblebees. They are mostly found in tropical regions. Most other species of bees have stingers. When the bee stings, it releases a caustic liquid that burns the skin.

Female honeybees have a sharp stinger at the tip of their abdomen. The stinger is connected to poison glands. In the queen, who stings only rival queens, the sting is smooth and can be withdrawn easily. The worker bee sting is barbed and is unable to be withdrawn. When the bees stings it ends up tearing its body which causes it to die.

Identifying types of bees by the type of hive they build:

Carpenter bees construct nests most often in flower stalks or wood. They dig tunnels through solid wood. This is how carpenter bees got there name. Piles of sawdust beside the nest entrance is a clue that a nest is near.

Honeybees build hives, also referred to as honey combs or bees wax. Bees have a unique ability to make wax because of their special glands in the abdomen. Honeybees store honey in the hexagonal cells of the comb of the bee hive. In the wild, bee hives are often made in caves or hollow trees. Beekeepers provide nesting boxes.

Several species of bees will not build nests, but rather live underground in burrows and tunnels. Some bees, such as bumble bees, nest in abandoned hole made by rodents or other small animals. Others, like the ground bee, dig tunnels in the ground as shelter for their offspring. The ground bees are categorized as mining bees because they dig tunnels.

Ground bees prefer well shaded places with little plant life and loose soil. The females make chambers at the end of the tunnel where they store food for the baby bees. Most species of ground bees are small in size, all black, and have stingers. Although these bees are not naturally aggressive, they can be if they feel threatened.

I know you can get candle wax out of something by melting it so I'd check the ingredients and see if it contains paraffin. If it does you might use a hair dryer to heat it. If not, you might try dish soap b/c my next guess would be that it contains some type of lipid which can be removed using a dish soap like Dawn.

Why do the bumble bees in my back yard keep dying?

I have a hive of bees in my back yard that live under my porch. It doesn't bother me at all as I've never been stung and they pretty much never come near me. However, in the last two or three weeks, every time I've gone outside there have been dead or dying bees on the floor. I went out today and there was around 20 dead or on their last legs bees all over the floor. I know that bee conservation is a big thing now, and I was just wondering why they were dying and so close to the nest? Why do the bumble bees in my back yard keep dying?
There is a mite going round at the moment killing bees. You'll probably find the reason they're all lying underneath the hive is the dead bodies have been thrown out by the other bees. Have a wee look at their tails and you can actually see the mitesWhy do the bumble bees in my back yard keep dying?
There are two things that could have killed them. If there's a orchard nearby the people working there spray the trees with insecticide and the wind would blow the spray over peoples gardens and that would certainly cause their deaths.

The other would be big hornets which attack in great swarms, and the hornets are the bees natural enemy. There was a Japanese bee keeper who lost quite a lot of his bees because hornets killed them
The bees are most likely dying because of the sudden changes in the worlds climate. Bees are not use to these changes and so die. If all the bees were to die in the world mankind could only exist for 4 yaers. Last year over 90% of bees had disappeared and according to the mayans the world is set to end in 2012.
They are very likely the drones, the males. they do nothing but hang round and wait to mate with a new queen. At a certain point in the season, usually around now, the workers kick them out to die or actually sting them to death, because there will be no swarm rising this late in the summer.
    bee flu
I don`t know what species they are, or where you live, but this could be entirely natural.

The nest would have started with a queen, who lays eggs and starts a new colony. The workers that are produced help build the nest, and bring food for the brood (babies!)

If the queen dies, or moves away, then the workers have lost their purpose and have no work to do...so they can die of old age around the hive....and there are no new bees being produced as the queen has gone. Bees do not live that long.

For example, we are often bothered by wasps in late summer...but earlier on in the year, although there are loads, they don`t bother us much. This is because earlier in the year the workers are busy bringing back loads of caterpillars and similar food for the young brood.

But after the nest`s work is done, these worker wasps have no purpose, and so are attracted to sugary things like fizzy drinks and suddenly become a nuisance, before dying.

I would need to know the species before being sure, and there are other possibilities, such as insecticide being used locally, or a predator (such as some hornets having attacked the nest), as well as disease being a problem.

BTW...many bee and wasp species don`t return to the same place twice, as the old site will have built up disease, so you are unlikely to have a nest there when the next season starts.

  • Can Golden Dwarf Puffers be kept with Bumble Bee Gobies?

I want to acclimate the puffers to a planted 20 gallon brackish setup. I am thinking maybe 5 puffers and 5 gobies. The tank also has a 2'; crab that looks difficult for a dwarf puffer to eat.Can Golden Dwarf Puffers be kept with Bumble Bee Gobies?
Dwarf Puffers are definitely not community fish and are best kept in a small species setup. Some people do keep them in larger community tanks with success, but it is not recommended. Dwarves are vicious little critters and will nip the fins off just about any other fish. They are capable of killing tank mates much larger than themselves with their relentless picking and nipping. Also, their small size can cause them to be eaten by larger fish. If you're going to keep dwarves, plan to provide them with their very own tank. There are a few tank mates that can be successfully kept with dwarves, though, and are worth mentioning, Otocinclus and Amino Shrimp, Ghost shrimp will make an excellent ';cleanup crew'; for your puffer tank.

But the answer is no, gobies will be gone one after anotherCan Golden Dwarf Puffers be kept with Bumble Bee Gobies?
No the puffers will eat the lil gobies if they can catch them
dwarf puffers are very aggressive fish, they need to be kept in a tank of their own or with their own species...if you don't they will fight to the death with any other fish you may have
only if you want fin-less gobies : )

Even 5 dwarf puffers by themselves in 20 gal might be too many. Perhaps three puffers and lots and lots of plants and decorations? Puffers are very aggressive and you should do the best that you can to break up the tank into sections for them.
No. The puffers need to be kept in a specimen only tank. What freshwater (not brackish) dwarf puffers lack in size, they more than make up for in territorial behavior (aggressive).

What effect does a struggling insect have on you- like a bumble bee who can not bumble, but who is trying to?

Say he's buzzing his little wings around, but he cannot flip himself over and fly away because he is injured. What effect does a struggling insect have on you- like a bumble bee who can not bumble, but who is trying to?
Oh, it breaks my heart a little.

Once, while at the beach with my boyfriend, there were a lot of ladybugs in the sand. Don't know where they came from or why they were there, but there were hundreds and hundreds of them...they were either dead or dying, and it made me so sad and I could no longer walk for fear of stepping on them. I asked my boyfriend to put them on me so I could then walk to the nearest grassy area and deposit them there...some got lost in my hair though which probably resulted in a slow and painful death for them...but that's better than drowning! What effect does a struggling insect have on you- like a bumble bee who can not bumble, but who is trying to?
I take them aside and explain to them that it's only their fear of success that is holding them back, and that for just three easy payments of 39.95, they can get my new DVD ';Unlocking the Mantis Warrior Within'; that will teach them the secrets to actualize their potential and live the life they've always dreamed about.

Unless it's a spider. Spiders aren't actually insects, and because of that I give them a stern talking to and then send them on their way, unharmed.
    I feel awful.

Once..I was like 22 and this guy beside me in a lecture was pulling the wings off a fly. I tooootally turned into a megabitch. I made him apologize to me and everyone around him for being such a monster. Made him kill the fly and promise to never do it again.

In hindsight...i may have overreacted. But torture is not my forte.
    I'd rescue them.

One time I found a black widow on its spider web and one of the legs was loosely dangling away from the spider. I caught the spider and super-glued the leg back on. Sure the spider died in the process but it was my heroic attempt to give a 7 legged spider 8 legs again.
I remember that bee! poor little thing! I flipped him over so he could at least walk. If it's an insect that is considered to be prey food for my bearded dragon lizard though, I feel I have to put him out of his misery fast. I feed him to the dragon so his life had meaning.

Grasshoppers have been ravishing my flowers lately. Guess what the dragon has been eating?
It reminds me of life's fragility...one day we will all lose the ability to bumble.

Except for scorpions...they get the club, repeatedly. Oh, and these, too: http://images.whatsthatbug.com/images/sc鈥?/a>
it makes me angry and helpless, and makes me wish I could shrink down really small and hug the bumble bee and perform surgery on it to repair the wing and give it a tiny popsicle when it woke up. since I can't, I scald my hands.
If my dog sees it, she's gonna eat it. Don't feel bad, she'll probably go eat from the kitty litter box next.

The effect it has on me is anger.

Why does my dog eat cat poo?
I am reminded of the ephemeral nature of life, and the vain struggle we attempt to try and avert the inevitable. ...and then I squash it.
I wouldn't help a bee, but I do help june bugs. I'll only help bugs I like. For instance, I wouldn't help a cockroach, either.
I'd E-mail you and ask what to do.

or put it out of it's misery.

    lame answer.

    I'm failing the goddess Tubs

strike me down with a lightning blot any time you will...

those big fat wood bees burrow into pole barns, and buzz around the wood....my father and I used to see how many we could hit by swinging tobacco sticks at them....it's really rather challenging, and were fun times.

Could a red belly pacu go with giant danios a bumble bee cichlid angels and some other fish?

i want one bad!Could a red belly pacu go with giant danios a bumble bee cichlid angels and some other fish?
Of course it could. I don't know for sure how many of your fish would survive, but you can put any fish you want together.

I hope you realize I'm being facetious.

Don't do it. If you want a pacu that bad, get it it's own tank, and make it large. And be ready to clean it and do water changes very often.Could a red belly pacu go with giant danios a bumble bee cichlid angels and some other fish?
Well, as long as you have 150 gallons for the pacu to grow into, and as long as you realize they're meant to be schoolers, even though they'll survive solo. As it is if you're keeping bumble bees and angels in the same tank you can pretty much try anything you want, because that's about as unnatural a mix as they come.
Thats easy...nope. I have a Pacu right now that is 22 inches long in a 150 gallon aquarium. I have tried many fish, the only one that hasnt gotten eaten was the pleco, who is now 26';. If you are looking for things that can possibly go with them are arrowanas, and a few of the very large African catfish. With these said, you would then be looking at a huge tank.
pacus get way to big for most to keep.

there are reports of them geting 24 inches in the wild and 15 to 20 inches in home tanks.

So do you think you can keep one?
well....they are sort of aggressive but dont let what the ppl in the pet stores discourage you here is waht i havee in my tank

    2 angelfish

    2 bumblebee cichlids

    1 swordtail

    2 long finned tetras

    4 guppies

    2 jack dempseys

yeah... the ppl in the pet store think im crazy but they all get along just fine soo you could try it it would probably work out but tip: when you feed them grind the food up in your fingers as it falls into the tank and they think there is more food so they dont kill eachother for it

    good luckkk =))

How can i get rid of bumble bees that buzz around my house??

there is like 4-5 big bees that stay close to the top of the sides of my house but every once in a while they go crazy and fly real fast right by us. i hate bees and am sooo scared of them.. ive tried sprays, but doesnt work.. is there any tricks that can lure them away or kill them???? i have 5 kids who dont want to go play outside anymore...How can i get rid of bumble bees that buzz around my house??
They really are very harmless. Far less likely to sting you than a normal bee and the slightly smaller ones do not even have a stinger!

Read this and see if understanding them a little might change your mind about them and help you and your children to stop being so frightened.

Burn some dry leaf and create enough smoke to compel them fly away.

How do i get rid of bumble bees in yard naturally?

have bees going in a hole in backyard they will not leave.Have tried digging hole to find no nest. How do i get rid of bumble bees in yard naturally?
In the heat of the day when the bees should be out foraging, lay a board over the hole to restrict their access. they should fly somewhere else when they get discouraged. Much better than poisoning them - we are losing bees far too much in this country. Bumble bees are not aggressive and generally leave people alone but they are good pollinators. How do i get rid of bumble bees in yard naturally?
Put several bird feeders in the garden, especialy close to the hole. Bees may wish to relocate after that. Birds pose danger to them
just spray a poison or seal up the hole.

i had a lamp outside on the porch

that had a wasp nest in it

    it worked for us.

just make sure you spray the poison in every nook and cranny of the nest area

Someone offered a brilliant solution to this problem a couple of weeks ago. Take advantage of the bees tendancy to fly close to you (they are not agressive about stinging). Swat them with a ping pong paddle! I tried it and it works.

Good luck with your bee problem.I have giant wood boring bumble bees eating big holes in my deck how do I get rid of them?
I have the same problem I spray bee/wasp spray in the hole and they come back in a few days and start a new hole!

    I hope someone can HELP!
I had two holes in my soffit a few weeks ago - I took a 50/50 mix of bleach %26amp; water is a spray bottle, and squirted a bunch in each hole. Haven't see the buggers since.

But any bug spray would work well too.

If the bees frighten you, do it as soon as the sun sets - they'll still pop out of the hole when you spray, but they won't have much chance of coming after you.
kerosene or gas just dump some in there hole and run.

With honey becoming scarce, Is it practicle to raise bumble bees for polination ?

I realizr their honey is nnot good, but for the past few years I have seen lots of bumble bees in my garden and not many honey bees. One day we may be glasd to see the killer bees. Who knows? With honey becoming scarce, Is it practicle to raise bumble bees for polination ?
I doubt its very practical to do on a small scale, but I would think there is some way that it could work.

I think its scary that one day there could be no more bees in the worldWith honey becoming scarce, Is it practicle to raise bumble bees for polination ?
The shortage of honey is being caused by a virus that is sweeping the world and killing the bees.

We would have to develop a bee that is resistant to the virus, but I guess we maybe have bigger problems to solve.
Bumble bees have much smaller colonies than honeybees do. We're talking hundreds vs tens of thousands. We can encourage them for pollination but raising them for honey would not be practical.
The bees have come up missing for reasons unknown. The science world is trying to figure it out.
Yepper, considering we need the bees to pollinate the flowers for our food to grow....or what is left of our food growth.

How can I make bumble bees nest in their nest?

I live in the north of england and i have a garden with lots of flowers. I have followed instructions to build a nest, so i have put it in a sunny flowery part of my garden, about 2ft of the ground.

Can anyone tell me why bumble bees aren't nesting in it?

And how i can make them nest in it?

ThanksHow can I make bumble bees nest in their nest?
    Like happycamper said.

Also, in early spring as soon as bugs start flying again, if you go outside and watch the ground, you may see a bumble bee flying hovering around the ground as if it is looking for something. In early spring any bumble bee you see is most likely a bumble bee queen looking for a new home. If you catch them at this time you may be able to put them in the home you built and keep them there for 2 weeks with food (pollen) and water. There is a book called befriending bumlebees: http://www.befriendingbumblebees.com/

It may be useful, I never read it though so dont know whats in it.

There are also online sources where you can actually order bumblebees from. People order them for their greenhouses to pollinate their plants. It might be easier to just go ahead and order some. How can I make bumble bees nest in their nest?
I would check your instructions again. Bumble bees don't nest off the ground, but in the ground. Normally old vole or mouse nests. So a rough bit of uncultivated ground is a good location. It is only the queen bumble bee that survives the winter, and in early spring she emerges from hibernation and finds a suitable location to build her nest, lay eggs and so start a new colony. Don't despair however as the nest you have constructed will be useful to other insects, ie overwintering ladybirds.
There is not much you can do because they like to do what nature lets the do it.

But here is a website about bumble bees to tell you better.

  • What would happen to bumble bees if there were no flowers to polllinate?

I need this info for a project, Im researching bumble bees and I cant seem to find this one.

HELP. Thanks for your aid. What would happen to bumble bees if there were no flowers to polllinate?
Bumble bees and flowers have a symbiotic relationship - the flowers help the bees by providing nectar, which they use for food. While the bees are collecting the nectar, they also brush up against the pollen, which they then bring with them when they go to the next flower. So the bees also help the flowers reproduce.

No flowers means no bee food. No bee food means no bees. What would happen to bumble bees if there were no flowers to polllinate?

How much years of practice would it take me to play Flight of the Bumble Bee on the trumpet?

I'm an average player and i really want to play this piece. But not only is it fast but really high. I can only hit a triple B with some consistency and the c above that occasionally. So what can I do. Also is it even possible. How much years of practice would it take me to play Flight of the Bumble Bee on the trumpet?
you know what the best clarinetists in the world-maxine ramey and buddy defranco told me?

practice a song measure by measure, backwards-meaning start with the last measure playing it slowly until it is perfect, then speed it up, then go to the measure before it.

    but you can still also practice it the ';normal way.';

if you do this i bet you can get it down in, say, 8 months?

I know you can do it-email me and tell me how it goes!

blueserenades@yahoo.comHow much years of practice would it take me to play Flight of the Bumble Bee on the trumpet?
I'm assuming you don't have a trumpet teacher.

You NEED a teacher. At the risk of sounding cliche, a good teacher will open up a whole new world to your playing. It's like trying to teach yourself mathematics from the ground up by yourself -- do you really think you can do it? You need guidance. Sure, you might be able to figure out some basics, but a teacher can show you the intricate workings of the laws of mathematics and take you up all the way through calculus.

A common misconception is that you don't need a teacher because everyone can teach himself. This is not true. It is nearly impossible to teach yourself to play an instrument. The difference is as big as going to school vs. not going to school.

My suggestion would be to call up the local universities, conservatory, and even music shops and ask what trumpet teachers they can recommend - try out the best one and see how you like it.

All that being said, if you attempt a very difficult piece like this by yourself, and you are an ';average'; player that doesn't even take lessons, I doubt it will EVER sound good. That might not be what you wanted to hear, but that's my assessment.
Your just gonna have to practice is the best I can tell you. Your range seems decent, and I'm not sure how fast you can play. What I do when I play runs and fast notes is I start it and then add a note each time and gradually increase the tempo. That should help you get the run. Also to get your notes higher practice scales as many times as you can to hit the notes. Hope I could help!
Well lets see an average player practicing apprx. 2 hrs a day for 5 months in a leap year.......

That would be 323 x 41 x sqaure root of 256.3231 divided by pie, less than or equal to the speed of light in a vacum...... rounding down.....around 4 years.

Honestly what kind of answer do you expect, every1 is different and it all comes down to how much you practice and how efficient is your practice.

Where do people get the idea that bumble bees don't sting?

I saw on here that bumble bees don't sting, and I know they do, I know people who have been stung by them. And they were bumble bees too, not carpenter bees.

Anyone have any ideas how to get rid of them, I have some at the back of my house.Where do people get the idea that bumble bees don't sting?
Get a hornet/yellow jacket trap at any home store. It is a plastic container with a colored lid. Throw some sugar water in it, bees/hornets go in, but don't come out. Rinse and reuse.Where do people get the idea that bumble bees don't sting?
Call the bug man, or have someone from a honey farm come to rid you place of them.
I've been stung by a bumble bee near my eye... I don't understand all these ';Bumble bees don't sting'; claims everyone hears about.

In response to the trap thing, I would completely advise against it. We used to get a ton of Japanese beetles and had traps for those.... but the stuff used to attract them also attracted the beetles from all the neighboring yards too.... and beetles (or in your case bees) have to travel through somewhere (your backyard) to get to the trap... you'll end up with a ton more buzzing overhead.

Call an exterminator or whoever it is that takes care of outside bugs, and have them spray and also remove any nests that are around.

.....or if you're anything like my boyfriend is, take a few Super Soakers to their nests. :-D

What do bumble bees dislike? I want to get rid of some in a wall cavity?

My grandchildren do not like them buzzing near them. I don't want to kill the bees, just discourage them from their nest. What do bumble bees dislike? I want to get rid of some in a wall cavity?
I suggest you tolerate them; bumble bees are in decline in the UK, with only 6 of an original 19 native species still widespread. They are very useful creatures, and pose no threat to you or your grandchildren (unless you start pestering them). In short, the benefits of having them there far outweigh the buzzing. And I don't know what that other guy's talking about; they DO form colonies with nests, albeit of far fewer numbers than other bees. What do bumble bees dislike? I want to get rid of some in a wall cavity?
I remember from discovery channel that bees calm down when subject to smoke? Some natives were shown to gather nector without any form of protection and succesfully done without a sting because of the smoke.

You could try Smoking them out.

Also could squirt them with a water gun then run inside the house with all windows shut for a little fun :D
must agree with doug, they are an endangered species vital to your garden. perhaps you can educate your grandchildren to become intrigued with them. at least they are solitary bees and not a hornets nest.
Play some Des O'Connor records really really loud..nothing n nobody likes that..And by the way are you sure they are bumble bees..they are solitary things and dont nest in groups..
Bumble bees are so cool! Just leave them alone they are not dangerous they just want to visit flowers.
Have a look in yellow pager under bee keeping,They will be happy to collect them.

What is the percentage of getting killer bee ball python from bumble bee x pastel?

Also what else can I get from that clutch. And do I have better chances of getting a killer bee from bee x pastel than getting a black eye Lucy from fire x fireWhat is the percentage of getting killer bee ball python from bumble bee x pastel?
I'm not 100% on these percentages, but here goes:

Bumblebee ball python x Pastel ball python

    25% pastels

    25% bumblebees

    12.5% normals

    12.5% spiders

    12.5% super pastels

    12.5% killer bees

It looks like Varanid and I have the same percentages for the bumblebee to pastel pairing except for he's missing 1/8, which I have listed as normals.

I am, however, 100% sure of the following pairing:

Fire ball python x Fire ball python

    50% Fires

    25% Normals

    25% Black eyed leucistics

Some of you reading this may wonder why normals are produced when breeding a fire to a fire, but that's how these genes work. For example, breeding a tiger reticulated python to another tiger retic will give 50% tigers, 25% super tigers, and 25% normals. I bet my life on this, although, as I mentioned, I am not 100% sure about the bumblebee to pastel percentages.

Now, to answer the other question, you have a better chance of getting a leucistic from a fire to fire breeding than you do getting a killer bee from a bumblebee to pastel breeding. Considering ball pythons average only 4 to 6 eggs per clutch, and since I have killer bees as a one in eight chance, you probably won't get one unless you have a big female who lays plenty of eggs. But with the fire to fire breeding, you have a one in four chance of getting a lucy. But keep in mind that these percentages are just approximations and are not guarantees.

By the way, you can create killer bees two different ways, from breeding a bumblebee to a pastel, or from breeding a super pastel to a spider. And thanks for the laugh Varanid! lolWhat is the percentage of getting killer bee ball python from bumble bee x pastel?

    1/8 super pastels

    1/8 spiders

if im wrong ill be corrected quick.

fire x fire ';should'; give you

    2/4 fires

    2/4 black eyed lucys

get one of those yellow tubular traps at a home improvement store... they're fantastic
Bees are wonderful. Do not try to kill them. Don't you know that bees are invaluable in their pollinating of flowers and crops? In my country bee keepers make a very good living out of taking hives around farms to get the crops going. I can only speak for my country, but if you have a problem, contact a bee keeper and he/she will come very quickly and collect the hive - its money for them and they love it when people point them to a hive.
No device that I know of, but keep the clover and other flowering bushes and flowers out of your yard and they will have no reason to come...

Where can i get bumble and bumble shampoo and conditoner for cheap?

i love bumble and bumble shampoo and conditioner but its extremely expensive for such a little bottle does anyone know where to get it for cheap in canada or on the internet? thanks!Where can i get bumble and bumble shampoo and conditoner for cheap?
There are a couple of reasons these products are more expensive; first, they are superior products, using the best (therefore expensive) ingredients. Second, they are highly concentrated; you only need a dime-size amount of shampoo, no matter how long your hair is. If it doesn't suds up the way you want it to, add more WATER, not more shampoo. You are always going to get a better sudsing with the second shampooing (you know- shampoo, rinse, repeat) because the hair is cleaner. As for conditioner; again- use a very small amount, work well through hair, and then, using a wide-tooth comb, comb the conditioner through your hair, starting at the ends and working your way up.

As for where to purchase the products; I do not recommend buying professional products anywhere but from a licensed salon. There is a term we use called 'diversion'. This is when products are sold outside of a salon. These products can be fakes, diluted, out of date, stolen or worse. Whatever the case may be, you have no protection or recourse unless purchased from a licensed salon. Caveat emptor: Buyer beware!Where can i get bumble and bumble shampoo and conditoner for cheap?

Gosh I would just let them be...if they are true bumble bees (the fuzzy kind) they are harmless and will pollinate for you like crazy. I often pet them as they are gathering nectar from my flowers! But if there are kids in the yard, you might want to put some wire fencing material around the hole to avoid any incidents.Bumble Bees! hey marz, there is some guy looking for you... heres the link
Give your neighbors a flat of Red Monarda (bee balm) and offer to plant it for them...then you can watch those bees traipse on over to the prize bouquet next door!!
i am sorry but i used Dawn dishwashing liquid(diluted). It will kill them though.Excellent flea control!Kills on contact.
they might be carpenter bees, and if they are, they are damaging the wood in your shed. Call a beekeeper or exterminator, they will know what kind of bees they are and how to get 'em to move.
there is probably a spray or substances that can kill or may them uncomfortable.

How do i stop bumble bees from eating holes in my rafters?

They are carpenter bees, not bumble bees. We used to catch and play with them when I was a child. I was told that the ones with the white spot on the head could not sting so I never tried to catch the ones with solid black heads. However, they may not sting either. While they do drill holes in wood, they also pollinate flowers and crops. I would leave them alone. You can cover the rafters with polyethylene to make them find another home.
I think you need an exterminator. You could try some home remedies like smoke or spray but I think you will save a lot of aggravation if you let a professional do it.

    Let them get stung.
get your home professionally sprayed. The store bought stuff has nothing on the professional brands

What type of plant can I plant outside this summer to keep bees away, especially bumble bees?

I have problems with bumble bees (the big fat round bees) around the front of my home every summer.

I can never find where their nest is so it's not as easy as destroying the nest and I can't afford to have pest control come.

I have heard that there are specific outdoor plants you can have that will keep bees away. Does anyone know? What type of plant can I plant outside this summer to keep bees away, especially bumble bees?
most likely what you think are bumbles are carpenter bees and they're munching on the wood in your house..... bumbles have fuzzy butts, and carpenters have black shiny butts.... see if you see the difference..... anyhoo... leave the bumbles be.... they're not going to hurt anyone... neither will the carpenters, actually... what buzzes around are the males and theyhave no stingers....

plants that do not flower, or that have flower stems that are easy to remove are your best bets.... coleus' flowers can be pinched off easy..... hosta flowers can be clipped off early... many other pretty colored plants are as eyecatching as flowers, but have little in the way of flowers... dusty miller is one whose flowers SHOULD be removed....

please don't hurt the bees...we DO need them.....What type of plant can I plant outside this summer to keep bees away, especially bumble bees?
Any flowering or fragrant plant will attract bees. It is instinct for them to come to the plant to pollinate. Without the bees, your plants will not flower. If you want to plant something that bees tend to ignore, try hostas, evergreen, Japanese maple. Bees tend to ignore that type of plant because of the flowering pattern. Any ornamental grass will do as well.

However, bees are generally not interested in you unless you are threatening them. They simply want to get to the flower for survival.
I realize that bees can be annoying but I think it is more with yellow jackets and wasps(more aggressive attracted to meat) but right now there is a bee crisis that has wiped many colonies of bees and they have no clue why we do need bees for pollination of our crops and our honey supplies if we continue to loose these colonies the prices of fruits and vegetable's and honey will continue to rise.If you would like more information on the bees go to the web site ';the great sunflower project';. But do you have flowers by your front door, are they in pots or can the flowers be moved away.Bees are attracted to all flowers but here are a few that they really like maybe you can plant them away from your door-sunflowers,bee balm, asters, cone flowers and marigolds. If they continue to be a problem contact you local county extension office explain the problem to them and they might have some great ideas for you and it is a free service to you(we pay for this service with our taxes)
I am not sure of a plant that will do that... But i do know my neighbor had the same issue and she found this type of paper where is was highly sticky on one side and attracted all sorts of bugs and bees and when they would land on the paper they would instantly be stuck to the paper.. and at the end of the week she would just take the paper off and throw it away.

Im not sure if you are the type of person who would feel bad for killing bugs and what not but i just thought that you might like the paper idea :]
bees are good for the earth - did you know that if all bees die off -humans wouldnt last more than 5 years.. and recently there has been a drastic reduction in bee population??

ok plant TREES - and move all flowers away..

flowers attract bees.. shadey trees deter them...
Bumble bees are the least troublesome kind of bees and should not be destroyed.

What kind of bumble bee is this?

it is the ones that are big and have puffy yellow and black stripes. I thought they were called ';bumble bees'; opposed to your typical yellow jackets. Does anyone know the actual name of the bee so that I can research it?What kind of bumble bee is this?
Its either a bumblebee or a honey bee

    wikipedia

I am actually positive it is a bumblebee

why do u wanna research it?What kind of bumble bee is this?
There are about 20000 species of bees worldwide. I'm no expert, but you may if fact be talking about a Carpenter Bee, they are much bigger and puffier than the average bee. As I said I'm no expert though. Here's a link to a website that may be of help to you, it has pictures and descriptions of all the common classifications of bees.
